As a Scottish public body, Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) complies with the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act, which came fully into force in January 2005.
This Act provides a right of access to information held by public bodies. It is enforced by the Office of the Scottish Information Commissioner who has the necessary powers to regulate compliance.
