As the Scottish Government's economic and community development agency for the north and west of Scotland, in line with the Government Economic Strategy (GES), HIE's purpose is to generate sustainable economic growth in every part of the Highlands and Islands.
HIE has been the key driver of the Campus project, recognising the significant long-term economic and social benefits it will deliver for the region. The first phase of site development , which is funded by HIE, started in January 2012. The completion of the main infrastructure is scheduled for Spring 2013.
