Owned by Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the Centre for Health Science is one of the first locations in the UK to bring together the public, private and academic sectors to be a focus for excellence in health science and biotechnology. The centre brings together research, education, training, patient care and business development all under one roof.
Ground breaking Research
A key aim of the Centre for Health Science is to build on the health science research activity in the region which is encouraged through collaboration, knowledge transfer, improved clinical outcomes, publications and commercialisation.
Since the first phase of the Centre was opened in 2006 over 70 research projects have taken place attracting over £6m of funding, working with a wide range of partners including the University of the Highlands and Islands, University of Edinburgh, University of Aberdeen, NHS Highland and NHS Education for Scotland.

Study and train
The Centre for Health Science accommodates a number of teaching and training departments and is a base for students from a number of universities including the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI), University of Stirling, and University of Aberdeen.
The Centre is equipped with state of the art training facilities, including clinical skills and dental health suites, to provide continuous education and development opportunities for healthcare professionals.
Teaching and training undertaken at the Centre is done through the innovative use of technology which means that it can be delivered to outlying sites in our more remote and rural areas.
